Preview — The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 11 “The Family”
After last week’s episode, order has been restored on The Good Doctor.
Salen (Rachel Bay Jones) is gone, and the members of the St. Bonaventure team are all re-hired and are ready to resume their roles in caring for their patients. The Salen saga brought the team together in some ways, and divided it in others.
This week’s episode looks like it will focus on Shaun (Freddie Highmore) making a personal connection with a young patient. These episodes are among the strongest episodes of the series. Fans get to see Shaun at his best, and see his advocacy come out.
A topical storyline that is going to be featured this week is the challenge of offering telemedicine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine has kept patients connected to their healthcare providers. Hopefully, the show can address the many benefits, as well as the challenges that this form of healthcare has brought.
Episode Description: Dr. Shaun Murphy makes a personal connection with a precocious young patient which threatens his objectivity. Meanwhile, while volunteering at a long-term care facility, Dr. Morgan Reznick realizes she could help Dr. Aaron Glassman’s clinic by offering telemedicine services for nursing homes and care facilities.
