#Tribeca2022 X Award Winners Announced

On June 15, 2022, the winners of the 2022 Tribeca X Awards were announced in New York City as part of the Tribeca Festival. The awards are comprised of four categories: Feature Film, Short Film, Series, and Immersive.

The purpose of these awards is to recognize brand collaboration in media. They are meant to highlight brands and artists sharing a vision to reach their consumers. Well-known brands were recognized for their achievements. The award winners in each category are as follows:

Feature FilmThe Beauty of Blackness, directed by Kianna Moore, Tiffany Johnson (Sephora)

Short FilmThe Comeback, directed by Zhang Meng (Apple)

SeriesStories About Helpful People, directed by Sindha Agha, Erin Brethauer, Tim Hussin (Zendesk)

ImmersiveEmerging Radiance, created by Tani Ikeda, Michelle Kumata (Meta)

The Tribeca X Awards also featured multiple panels centring a variety of discussions. Rapper LL Cool J, and P&G’s Chief Brand Officer Marc Pritchard. At this time, they spoke about the fact that their conversation moderator, Rose Pierre-Louis of the McSilver Institute, is set to be the next Executive Director at NYU McSilver. This Institute focuses on Poverty policy and research. 

At this event, it was also announced that Dear Santa, the award winning documentary about the United States Postal Service’s legendary “Operation Santa” program, is going to be made into a new holiday docuseries for ABC Television.

Of this announcement, Jennifer Donohue, SVP of Disney Advertising Local, said, “We’re excited to welcome Dear Santa to the slate of December programming made to bring viewers holiday cheer.”

She continued, “By leveraging the entire Disney portfolio, not only will the episodes reach audiences on the local networks where parts of the series were filmed, but also be widely available on Hulu for fans of the film to enjoy.”
